The Indiana Local News Initiative announced its launch Wednesday as a not-for-profit media organization planning to create newsrooms in Indianapolis and Gary.
The Initiative is a new, nonprofit organization dedicated to making quality, independent local news and information freely accessible to all Hoosiers, with community and collaboration at the core of its mission.
Following a comprehensive statewide study, philanthropies and news outlets join forces to drastically increase quality, independent, community-centered local news for Indiana; Indianapolis and Gary to get new, nonprofit newsrooms.
