Amanda is on the Startup Studio team, overseeing the recruitment and onboarding of local editorial leaders at AJP-supported startups and supporting the development and implementation of newsroom operations and strategy in preparing newsrooms for launch.

Amanda has more than a decade of experience in journalism. For the last nine years, she has worked as a reporter and editor at The Washington Post, where she covered foreign policy and helped lead The Post’s coverage of the 2020 presidential campaign. Most recently, she served as the deputy America editor, running a team of reporters around the country who covered major breaking news and enterprise.

Before joining The Washington Post, Amanda worked for two years as an editor on CityLab, The Atlantic’s website about cities and urban affairs. Amanda graduated from Columbia University and completed a Fulbright scholarship in Baku, Azerbaijan. She lives in Washington, DC, with her husband and two cats.
