Dorrine leads the American Journalism Project’s work to help nonprofit news organizations identify new opportunities for impact with emerging technologies – specifically generative artificial intelligence. In this role, she works to understand the needs of nonprofit news organizations and their audiences and businesses, identifies and helps launch and test products, and develops relationships with technology and platform partners.

Most recently, Dorrine was program co-lead for the Local Media Association. She has held product, project management and partnership roles at CNN, Meta and local news outlets across the country. She was deeply involved in the creation of Dataminr for News, and helped create and launch the Meta Local News Accelerator. She also managed Meta’s local news grant program, which distributed more than $20 million in funding. She loves solving problems, exploring the possibilities of new technologies and helping small business leaders prioritize their goals.

Dorrine was an avid reader as a child, and raised in the Arizona desert. She was the first in her immediate family to attend a university. She lives in north New Jersey with her family and best dog ever, Pablo.
