Jasmin Ward Carey

Jasmin serves as the bridge between the American Journalism Project, our partners and funders to cultivate national support for local news.

With 15 years of fundraising experience, Jasmin has worked with several local and national nonprofit organizations. Previously, Jasmin served as the Urban Institute’s senior director of development, where she served as a key partner in Urban’s continued transformation of fundraising for the organization. Before that, she was Share Our Strength’s first director of foundation relations, where she developed a robust foundations program and was an active member on their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee while leading their LGBTQIA affinity group. Jasmin has also served as the primary institutional fundraiser and strategist at various organizations, such as Bipartisan Policy Center, Truman National Security Project, and Community of Hope.

Jasmin currently serves on the board of directors for Annapolis Pride in Annapolis, Md., where she resides with her wife and daughter. She received a bachelor’s degree in english language and literature from the University of Maryland, College Park.
