Linnea leads AJP’s local philanthropy partnerships team in conducting market research and developing sustainable solutions for nonprofit newsrooms across the country. In collaboration with communities, journalists and philanthropists, Linnea works to strengthen local news coverage and to create sustainable systems to support that coverage.

Before joining AJP, Linnea worked in international health, violence prevention and journalism. At Youth ALIVE!, a violence prevention and intervention nonprofit, she conducted research projects and led advocacy initiatives for local and state policy. Her career also includes global public health programs in South Africa, Liberia, Uganda and New Zealand, as well as reporting for numerous newspapers including the San Francisco Chronicle.  

A graduate of Florida A&M University and Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Linnea is based in Houston.
