Rachel Stark Hochman

Rachel leads finance, operations, and strategy for AJP’s startup organizations.

Rachel has over a decade of strategy and media experience. Prior to joining the American Journalism Project, she was Director of Strategy at The New York Times, where she led Enterprise Planning & Operations and directed a portfolio of strategy projects across core business priorities.

Rachel started her career in management consulting at the Boston Consulting Group, primarily focused on media clients and consumer-facing businesses, and was also seconded to the UN Global Compact, a voluntary initiative based on CEO commitments to implement sustainability principles and support UN goals.

A graduate of Harvard College, Rachel serves as vice-chair of the Executive Committee of The Crimson’s Graduate Board and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Rachel is based in Brooklyn.
