Rachel oversees the establishment and incubation of startup news organizations alongside a coalition of community stakeholders, local philanthropies, and management talent, as well as the implementation of our Local Philanthropy Partnerships.
Rachel has nearly a decade of strategy and media experience. Prior to joining the American Journalism Project, she was Director of Strategy at The New York Times, where she led Enterprise Planning & Operations and directed a portfolio of strategy projects across core business priorities.
Rachel started her career in management consulting at the Boston Consulting Group, primarily focused on media clients and consumer-facing businesses, and was also seconded to the UN Global Compact, a voluntary initiative based on CEO commitments to implement sustainability principles and support UN goals.
A graduate of Harvard College, Rachel serves as an officer on the Executive Committee of The Crimson’s Graduate Board and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Rachel is based in Brooklyn.
