The Nevada Independent aims to be the primary news organization providing Nevadans with in-depth news coverage and informed opinions that shed light on the matters that affect them most.

Its reporting focuses on campaigns and elections, federal and state government, economy and business, and the following policy areas: education, law and criminal justice, healthcare, immigration, energy, and environment. It provides content in English and Spanish to serve the entire Nevada community.

With support from the American Journalism Project, The Nevada Independent seeks to grow into a true statewide news source, covering local governments and communities in all 17 counties. A new chief revenue officer and expanded leadership team will support growth of beat reporting and multilocal government and policy coverage by reporters across the state.
