Michelle Srbinovich

Vice President, Portfolio Success


Michelle leads American Journalism Project’s portfolio-wide support and capacity building initiatives, and serves as a strategic partner to a growing number of American Journalism Project grantees.

She was previously general manager at Detroit’s NPR affiliate, WDET, where she drove audience growth, operating revenue and philanthropic support for the first working U.S. model of mainstream, major market, multi-ethnic public radio.

A graduate of Northwood University, Michelle’s career began in advertising and she has earned national recognition for her commitment to bringing new audiences to public service media. Michelle is based in Detroit.

Michelle serves as a Success Partner to MLK50, NOISE, City Bureau, ICT, inewsource, Outlier, Louisville Public Media, and Sahan Journal.

Success Partners provide close support to grantees over the course of their grant and serve as their advisor and main liaison to the American Journalism Project.
