We at AJP have been asked two questions a lot over the past couple of weeks. The first is whether we support public funding for local news over the long term? The second is do we support COVID-19 related relief of newsrooms, both for-profit and nonprofit.
Over the last year we’ve announced our first grants, started working closely with our grantees — and just last week introduced our first CEO, Sarabeth Berman, who is stepping into the big shoes that John Thornton created as our day-to-day leader for the last 14 months.
Today we announced that Sarabeth Berman will be the first CEO of the American Journalism Project. Sarabeth joins us after a 10-year career in education that culminated in leading global public affairs at Teach For All.
Today, the American Journalism Project (AJP) announced the selection of its first CEO, Sarabeth Berman. Berman will report to the AJP Board of Directors and will replace co-founder John Thornton as AJP’s day-to-day leader.
